Seven Different Women, Seven Different Stories, From Different Walks Of Life And Background, One Word In Common: Excellence |
AWiB believes that there are inspirational women with stories never told or that will definitely inspire others to be a person of excellence regardless of who they influence. Their stories will be spoken. We believe those women need to be appreciated and recognized at least through our Association’s event every October, at the Women of Excellence Award Gala. AWiB’s Woman of Excellence Award celebrates the achievements and accomplishments of women in their careers, businesses and communities. It is the country’s leading annual celebration of Ethiopian Women who have portrayed passion, leadership, persistence and integrity. The ingenuity and triumph of one of these amazing Ethiopian Women will be awarded, the prestigious Women of Excellence Award. The nominees are chosen for their vision, audacity, consideration, proven achievement, coaching and sponsoring others, contribution to their sphere of industry, succession planning, clear strategy for sharing their knowledge and skills, innovativeness and generosity as confirmed by how they help other women excel. The rationales for the award are to: nurture a culture of appreciation and celebrate hard work in our community; make visible women in our society who are doing monumental work in their respective communities; and inspire a younger generation of women by sharing the stories of the women of excellence. In early May 2014, AWiB put out a call to the public at large to nominate women whom they exhibit the virtue of excellence. From the nineteen nominations received, AWiB board members conducted twelve interviews and shortlisted seven nominees for the 2014 Women of Excellence Award.
Celebrating in style at the Sheraton Addis Hotel, the 3rd Annual Women of Excellence Award Dinner and Gala will gather over 500 corporate business executives, influential community leaders, business women and entrepreneurs and celebrate these nominees. This year our partners: Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, Dashen Bank S.C, MACCFA Logistics, Impala Communications have been of great support and we hope to be embraced with the supporting hands of our members, and others to make this event a success. Mark your calendar to come and celebrate these women on October 19, 2014 from 17:30 – 22:00 |
