Writer and Programmer Nadia Denton has been working in the film industry for over ten years, primarily in the areas of exhibition, marketing and distribution. We’re delighted to welcome Nadia to BFI Southbank to discuss her latest publication The Nigerian Filmmaker’s Guide to Success: Beyond Nollywood,’a film reference manual that pulls together industry guidance and best practice for African filmmakers. Nadia will be joined by a variety of key Nigerian filmmakers for a discussion around some of the key issues confronting them, and the current state of the Nigerian film industry. Guests include father of ‘Nollywood’ Chris Obi – Rapu, Director of the much famed Living in Bondage, the film that precipitated the phenomenon of Nollywood; and Dr. Ladi Sandra Adamu an Associate Professor in Mass Communications from the Ahmadu Bello University and leading authority on Hausa filmmaking and cultural representation.

Beyond Nollywood
