Bunna Cafe Going From Pop-Up Restaurant to Permanent

Posted: Apr, 7th 2015

After two years of being a New York based traveling pop up vegan restaurant Bunna Cafe is taking the leap to become a more permanent restaurant and bar in Bushwick New York. And they need your help to get their new space finished and ready.

Founders Sam Saverance and Liyuw Ayalew have gone through the route of raising funds to equip their new base in a beautiful, fully-equipped space at 1084 Flushing Avenue in Bushwick. With the aim of bring Ethiopian cuisine, coffee and culture to North Brooklyn and beyond in an authentic and creative setting that can incubate bigger projects that will create positive change for everyone from Addis to NYC.

They have set up a fund raising campaign through Indiegogo of which only a week is left to raise their $15,000 goal to refurbish new walls, ceiling, for new furniture, and also to create a space for live performance and an area to perform traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

We are  really excited about Buna Cafe's venture of getting Ethiopian food out the mases. We have seen a massive surge and interest in Ethiopian food. From Ethiopian restaurants opening up in cities around the world, to interest in Ethiopian spicific dishes and ingriedients from Kibbeh (butter) to Tef.
