Call for Nominations: 2015 AWiB Women of Excellence

Every year in October AWiB presents inspiring stories and incredible accomplishments of deserving women of our community. AWiB works tirelessly on WOE recognition to cultivate a culture of appreciation and generate many role models for the coming generation.

In 2014, yet another occasion to excavate these women from their trenches, AWiB profiled seven phenomenon women with compelling stories to tell and be told. In the presence of over 500 corporate executives, influential community leaders, businessmen and women, the stories and contributions of these seven women were celebrated through short documentaries, printed booklets with stories of all nominees, and exchanges with the women themselves at a gala dinner fit for a Queen. And Tehras Mezgebe, a champion for preventing Bush Birthing took the title for AWiB WOE 2014.

AWiB is now calling upon members of the public, friends and fans to nominate women from different sectors you believe have done work that needs to be celebrated; stories you believe need to be heard; and female role models you believe need to be made visible.

A woman who has utilized her position, stature and expertise for a causeCriteria for nomination and selection:

• An  outstanding  woman  who  strives  to  build  a  great  company/organization and  also contributes to the success of other entrepreneurs/professionals
• A  woman  who  serves  as  an  example  of  hard  work  and  responsible leadership  and  who demonstrates a powerful commitment to coaching other women and sponsoring them to reach their zenith
• A woman who promotes community service, who is changing the face of neighborhoods through initiatives to provide services that benefit a community at large

AWiB, as an association committed to the personal and professional development of female professionals and entrepreneurs, is seeking for nominees from different sectors as the Women of Excellence awards celebrates the excellence of women from all sectors.
