Our friends at London Ethnic present the first Fashion Revolution Day. The event will be about connections, based around the theme of Who Made Your Clothes? We have lost the connection with the clothes that we wear, so we thought it was important to make this first day about transparency and connections. What is the connection to someone else through your clothes? The farmers do not know where their cotton goes; the producers no longer make entire garments, they are just line workers; and the end consumer rarely know where their clothes were made.
Fashion is about relationships and the first Fashion Revolution Day is about reconnecting the relationships of fashion which have broken down and need to be reestablished. We need to become more curious about how our clothes are made and who made them. Be Curious Find Out Do Something About it!
Fashion Revolution Day is the day when fashionistas around the world will be asking the question "Where are your clothes made from?" There will also be a special ethical fashion show on the one year anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster where 1000 people died in Bangladesh making clothes.
The night will include an ethical catwalk show, talks on ethical fashion & fashion revolution day, raffle, goodie bags, drinks and after-party till late.
