JVS Presents Meketa - 23.08.15

Your chance to participate in a traditional coffee making ceremony, enjoy an authentic vegan Ethiopian meal and learn about the Ethiopian Jewish community in Gondar. 

How have their lives changed since the massive immigration to Israel of the 1990s? What challenges do they face today? 

This is a family friendly event, with Ethiopian craft activities for children. We're hoping for nice weather so that we can enjoy the event outdoors.

Meketa means ‘support’ in Amharic. They are a UK-based organisation that assists families of Jewish origin in Gondar, Ethiopia.
