New FDC Emerging Designer Award Now Open
Fashion Designers and Craft makers (FDC) returns with its highy acclaimed award show. The FDC New Emerging Designer Award is NOW OPEN to designers between the ages of 9-29 years from the UK and USA.

FDC Emerging Designer Award is an extension of FDC Young Designer Awards Show which has been making an impact over the years and is dedicated to highlighting the UK's outstanding aspiring fashion and accessory designers. The Emerging Designer Award set up to acknowledge both UK and US young accessory and fashion designers who have the potential to be future fashion leaders. This award gives each young designer an opportunity to express their individualism and creative flare; young designers will demonstrate that they have what it takes to be a future innovator.
This award is aimed at young fashion and accessory designers aged 9-15 years and 16-29 years. Our UK winners will be given the opportunity to show a small or medium sized collection in New York City in a glitzy Angelman Syndrome Charity Gala Show and our US winners will be able to show a collection in our Collection Showcase at in the FDC Young Designer Awards in London.

Joanna Marcella the founder of the awards says, "Our awards is an exciting event designed to show the world new fashion stars, we showcasing the best emerging talent from all over the world some of whom fashion graduates or still studying."
Selected UK designers will take part in a Collections Showcase which takes place at the Pullmanl Hotel St Pancras Saturday 1 November 2014. We are showcasing at least 25 innovative Fashion designers at the show.
The recommended Brief for the Emerging Designer Award UK:
This year's recommended brief: is to design a flamboyant garment, based on the theme 'Fashion meets Art' designers must produce an innovative garment or collection. Entrants will be expected to produce a design that encompasses and takes inspiration from an artist such as: Andy Warhol, Leonardo da Vinci, Salvador Dalí, Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Paul Cezanne, Marc Chagall, Edgar Degas, Andre Derain, Paul Gauguin, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky and so on; the artist must be one of the masters.

The Brief for the Emerging Designer Award USA:
Is simply to design a cutting edge garment based on the life and work of 'the iconic fashion designer Alexander McQueen' Designers have to research this designer life and work and produce an innovative garment inspired by that research. This award is aimed at young designers who can think Outside of the Box and produce truly amazing creation.
