The 22nd edition of the New York African Film Festival places special emphasis on the achievements of the short format and digital technology, which have become a conduit for new stories, sounds and images by freeing their creators from budgetary and technical limitations
The New York African Film Festival (NYAFF), running May 6-12. Under the banner of the United Nations’ International Decade for People of African Descent (2015–2024), the 22nd edition of the festival presents a diverse crop of 15 features and 13 short films from Africa and the Diaspora. The festivities take place as AFF celebrates its 25th anniversary.
