Songlines Music Awards 2015 Winners

Songlines Music Awards 2015 winners have been announced

Launched in 2008, the Songlines Music Awards celebrate and acknowledge the myriad of musical talents across the world, featured in Songlines magazine.

The nominees are voted by Songlines readers and the general public from over 600 albums.  There are four categories: Best Artist, Best Group, Cross-Cultural Collaboration and Newcomer and the Songlines editorial team select the winners from the four nominees in each category.

2015 winner are:

BEST ARTIST - Tony Allen > For the album Film of Life on Jazz Village

BEST GROUP - Toumani & Sidiki Diabaté > For the album Toumani & Sidiki on World Circuit

CROSS-CULTURAL COLLABORATION - Kronos Quartet > For the album A Thousand Thoughts on Nonesuch

NEWCOMER - Ibibio Sound Machine > For the album Ibibio Sound Machine
