Welcome to Busseywood is back. The the Bussey building/CLF Art Cafe will once again hosting London's largest annual one-day free African film and eclectic music festival. Running from Midday til 5am in the morning on 3 floors.
Great films back-to-back, exploring the exciting multi-layered nature of the African film narrative. From classic African cinema to new and emerging artists from Africa and the wider African community. Followed by an all night music session with some of the DJs on the UK music scene today. Curated and organised by Peckham local Orvil Kunga (aka Kungadred), in partnership with the CLF [Chronic Love Foundation], CLF Art Cafe and Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival.

Half of a Yellow Sun - Nigeria, 2013, cert PG, 111 mins, dir Biyi Bandele
Starring award winning actors Chiwetel Ejifor and Thandie Newton, Half of a Yellow Sun is the biggest film to come out of Africa from an African director, having gained international cinematic release.
District 9 - South Africa, 2009, cert PG, 112 mins, dir Neil Blomkamp
From producer Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and director Neill Blomkamp comes a startlingly original science fiction thriller plunging us into a world where the aliens have landed...only to be exiled to a slum on the fringes of Johannesburg.
Imani - Uganda, 2010, cert PG, 82 mins, dir Caroline Kamya
Imani vibrantly captures three vignettes of life in modern day Uganda: a child soldier returning to the parents who could not protect him, a woman fighting to get her wrongly accused sister out of jail, and a youth dance troop leader struggling to simply get through a hometown performance.
Touki Bouki - Senegal, 1973, cert PG (tbc), 95mins, dir Djibri Diop Mambety
A true classic of African cinema. A masterpiece of filmmaking, with a stunning mix of the surreal and the naturalistic, Djibril Diop Mambeěty paints a vivid, fractured portrait of Senegal in the early 1970s.
Oya: Rise of the Suporishas - UK, 2014, cert PG, 13 mins, dir Nosa Igbinedion
Oya is an exciting action-packed film, written and directed by award-winning director Nosa Igbinedion. The film resurrects mythical deities from African folklore, known as Orishas, into modern-day superheroes, focusing on Ade, one of the few people in the modern world who still has a connection with one of the gods, Oya.
